Longhorns on the move

Campfire Fun

We are a simple family ranch, located in Southwestern Kansas, just 40 miles from Dodge city. (map)   We raise Texas Longhorn Cattle and do all of our ranch work the old fashioned, cowboy way.

We are not a dude ranch. WE put on no fronts, so don't expect anything that isn't real. As an individual or a family, you are welcome to come along with us during our day-to-day activities. We will match you up with a ranch horse to fit your abilities. The older, gentler horses are for those who have never ridden before or have little experience. If you have quite a bit of riding experience, there are other ranch horses of all calibers available.

Mounted Cowboys

Relax overnight in a cabin on the ranch. There will be no traffic keeping you awake here! Each cabin is equipped with a shower and toilet.

Come along as we move the Longhorn cattle to new pasture, ride the prairie as we check and mend fences, brand calves during branding season, or work with young colts. Come along on an overnight pack trip or even try your hand with a six-shooter or bow and arrow.

Chuckwagon on the prairie
TeePee Line

If you are ready for a rustic experience, come along on our trail drives. We drive the Longhorns horseback to seasonal pasture. The first day we spend the morning acquainting you with your mount which will be your responsibility for the entire drive. We give any riding instruction necessary and head out for a short ride to make sure everyone is comfortable before we hit the trail. After a bit of home-cooking, we are off on the trail. A chuckwagon comes along with us for dutch oven cooked meals. We spend our nights in bedrolls under the stars or in cowboy teepees.

See You on the Trail!!

The Cowgirl Adventure Package!

If you are a woman and have ever dreamed of experiencing the daily activities of a true-to-life ranch woman, special weekends are now available for the cowgirls only! Come visit our simple family ranch. You will have the opportunity to come along with the ranch women and take part in the things we thrive on everyday:   nature, clean air, cowgirl work, family and togetherness.

You might find yourself riding the range checking the Longhorn herd and grassland conditions, moving the herd, cooking over a fire or in a Dutch Oven, branding or doctoring cattle, rounding up the horses, dipping your feet in the cool creek, seeing a new fawn, finding a deer antler shed, and then relaxing under the stars after a full day of fun!
