A lot of folks look at the photos of our ranch, and say to themselves "I wonder what it's really like to live on a longhorn cattle ranch." If you really want to know, we invite you to come find out for yourself!
Guests are welcome to come spend a couple of days, a couple of weeks, or even, just a couple of hours, to find out what a real longhorn cattle ranch is all about. We are an authentic, working ranch, not a dude ranch. We invite you to come along with us for our daily work, and to try your hand at ranching.

We ride almost every day and have horses for all ranges of experience. If you are new to riding, do not worry. We have horses just for you, and take the time to give you the
confidence you need to feel comfortable. If you have experience and want a more challenging ride, we have horses just for you as well. You won't be riding "head-to-tail" down a path. Our ranch horses will be taking you over open prairie.
We are usually on horseback daily checking cattle, moving cattle, fixing fence or monitoring the range
—and we'll show you what we are looking for when we ride. We are watching to see what types of grass the cows are eating, how much they have eaten, how much grass has re-grown and what growth stage it is in. We are always monitoring wildlife. If we see a lot of wildlife, we know we are taking care of the ecosystem. If there is enough forage for the wildlife to stick around, there is enough to share with our livestock as well.
If we rope a calf out in the pasture to doctor it for pinkeye or diarrhea, you'll probably have the opportunity to help administer medication to the animal after we have it roped.
At our branding, guests can help brand, vaccinate, or even try their hand roping and dragging a calf to the fire, as we still do that the old-fashioned way.
Guests ride right along beside us and experience our workday as it progresses. You will encounter the same joys and frustrations that any ranch hand would normally encounter. Rest assured, we do not stage the day to entertain our guests—your stay here will be authentic. Everything is genuine. Often times, guests might help get a stray animal back inside the fence and help repair the fence.
If you stay a few days more, likely you will get a chance to help with chores, such as milking a cow, feeding sheep and chickens, bottle-feeding some calves, gathering eggs, and maybe catch some colts and work with them.
Guests eat their meals with our family around the family table. Nancy makes everything from scratch, and you'll eat fresh vegetables from our garden, eggs from the hen house, some mouth-watering biscuits, and of course, longhorn beef.
After supper, when the dishes are done, we might all be around the roping dummy either practicing roping or learning to rope. Or we might just start up a campfire and enjoy an evening under the stars.
As our guest, you will be staying in a cabin which has it's own shower, sink and toilet, with both a heater and an air-conditioner. Although the Internet and a telephone are available at the main house, There is no tv or telephone in the cabins, no wi-fi, and no cell phone reception. You will be totally free of all that the entire length of your stay!
Daily ranch experiences are $145 per person, which includes home cooked meals, a cabin, horses to ride, and an experience of a life time!
Day experiences are $100 (no lodging).
We only have 4 to 6 guests on the ranch at a time to assure you a true, authentic experience. Do not miss this once in a lifetime experience.
